Roerslev’s winner ‘a fantastic Brentford story’ – Frank

Thomas Frank described Mads Roerslev scoring the winner against Aston Villa as a “fantastic Brentford story.”

The defender was the unlikely hero, netting a late goal as the Bees came from behind to clinch another dramatic victory.

Boss Frank said: “It’s a fantastic Brentford story. We are buying a young player who hadn’t played a full season for any team.

“Now he has played four or five starts in the Premier League and has scored and made assists, which shows his progress.

“We showed top character in abundance today, especially in the first half when we struggled.”

Meanwhile, both Sergi Canos and Mathias Jensen had to be replaced in the second half due to injury. Both will be assessed over the next 24 hours.

Frank said: “We had to make two subs with injuries and it was so impressive to get through this game with three points.

“It is a hip (injury) with Jensen. Sergi, I’m not sure – it could be his hamstring and we’ll assess him tomorrow. We’ve been hard done by so far this season with injuries.”
