Christian Eriksen made his first appearance in a Brentford shirt, playing 60 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against Southend at the Bees’ Jersey Road training ground – where Josh Dasilva scored a hat-trick.

It was Eriksen’s first match action since suffering a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark during the European Championship last summer. He set up one of Dasilva’s goals.

There was also a return from injury for Tariqe Fosu, while Dasilva completed 90 minutes for the first time since overcoming a long-term hip problem.

The hosts won the game 3-2. Other players involved included Mads Roerslev, Mads Bech Sorensen, Shandon Baptiste, Frank Onyeka and Saman Ghoddos.
