Donaldson’s double lifts Bees to third

Clayton Donaldson scored both goals as Brentford climbed to third in the table.
His first came after just seven minutes, when he got in front of his marker to head home Harry Forrester’s excellent cross.
Uwe Rosler’s men then had to withstand a period of pressure, with Matt Smith going close with a header and a volley and Jose Baxter firing narrowly wide.
But Brentford defended well and were helped by a fine second-half save from Simon Moore, who did brilliantly to keep out Baxter’s effort.
And the Bees’ victory was sealed when Donaldson netted again after being found in space by substitute Sam Saunders – the striker’s 14th goal of the season.
