Watford man to stay with Bees

Brentford are set to extend defender Adam Thompson’s loan from Watford after learning that Shaleum Logan could be sidelined for some time.

Northern Ireland international Thompson has made four starts for the Bees and boss Uwe Rosler is keen to keep him at Griffin Park for at least another month.

Rosler revealed summer signing Logan “is not even close” to recovering from injury and confirmed that striker Gary Alexander is also unlikely to return to action any time soon.

Thompson did well at right-back during Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at home to Colchester.

Anthony Wordsworth’s last-gasp equaliser for the U’s denied Brentford top spot in League One, but Rosler insisted: “I’m not disappointed. In the first half it was the best we’ve played.

“We lost two points, but overall I’m very happy with the performance. We just had some back luck.”
