Bees edge closer to deal for Wolves defender Collins

Brentford appear to be close to a deal to sign Wolves centre-back Nathan Collins.

A recent approach for the 22-year-old was rejected, but talks between the clubs have continued and it currently looks as though Brentford are close to getting their man.

The Bees are keen to sign a central defender this summer following Pontus Jansson’s recent departure.

Collins joined Wolves from Burnley for just over £20m last summer and made 26 Premier League appearances last season – seven of them as a substitute.

Meanwhile, negotiations are continuing with Tottenham over a fee for keeper David Raya.

The Spaniard is expected to move on as he is entering the final year of his contract and rejected offers of a new deal, but the Bees are adamant they want £40m for him.
