Brentford defender Collins ruled out of Arsenal game

Brentford defender Nathan Collins has been ruled out of Saturday’s match against Arsenal after sustaining an ankle injury.

Collins, who joined the Bees for a club record £23m in the summer from Wolves, suffered the injury playing for the Republic of Ireland against the Netherlands last weekend and is also likely to miss next week’s game against Luton.

The loss of the Dubliner increases Brentford’s defensive woes ,with Aaron Hickey sidelined until the new year with a hamstring problem and Rico Henry out for the season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Keane Lewis-Potter is available for selection after a knee injury, but Mikkel Damsgaard and Josh Dasilva are unavailable despite playing for the B team in a behind-closed-doors game in midweek.

“For Dams it is too early. He will play a friendly game on Tuesday,” boss Thomas Frank said.

“Josh is also too early and he will hopefully be involved in that game too.”
