Brentford defender Roerslev faces spell out

Brentford fear Mads Roerslev could be sidelined for two months.

The right-back recently suffered a foot injury while on international duty with Denmark’s Under-21s.

Brentford are yet to fully assess the problem but head coach Thomas Frank expects the youngster to be unavailable for some time.

“It’s a bone in his foot. We are looking into that but it could be a couple of months,” Frank said.

Roerslev’s injury leaves Brentford short of cover at right-back for Henrik Dalsgaard.

Rico Henry was switched to right-back for a recent friendly against Oxford United.

And Frank says the club could consider making a loan signing if Roerslev is ruled out for a significant period of time.

“It’s something we will look into if we need that,” he said.

“We played Rico slightly out of position against Oxford. He has the potential to play there.

“It could also be that we play 3-4-3, with wing-backs, or of course to look for a loan.”
