Brentford are still in the play-off race, Rosler declares

Uwe Rosler insisted Brentford would continue to battle for a play-off place following their goalless draw at home to Notts County.

The result means Rosler’s side remain eighth – three points behind sixth-placed County but with a better goal difference.

Promotion is still a realistic possibility if they can finish the season strongly, and the Bees boss declared: “We will not give up this chance at the play-offs without a fight.

“There is no need to panic. We are still on course for the play-offs. It is Notts County’s and Carlisle’s to lose.

“We must win all three of our last three games. Maybe two wins and a draw will get us there, but I want three wins.”

He added: “We were the better side today. I was happy with our performance. We controlled the game and should have won it.

“But we were anxious and we played with heavy shoulders as the game wore on. We were more concerned with losing the game than maybe going on and winning it.”
