Boss Frank saw Brentford’s win at Boro coming

Thomas Frank hailed his players after they beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium – and insisted he saw the victory coming.

The Bees came from behind, with an own goal by defender Ryan Shotton bringing them level before Said Benrahma’s winner.

It sealed only Brentford’s second away win in the Championship this season – but boss Frank had no doubt they were better than that record suggested.

“Sometimes the stats don’t tell the whole story. We knew it was coming,” Frank declared.

“I am not being arrogant but we knew we could do well. We are good on a good run and are a good team.

“We knew it would be difficult and we are very pleased with the way we did it. I am proud of the boys. They did very well.”

The victory lifted Brentford into the top half of the Championship table. They are up to 12th – just six points away from the play-offs places.
