Bidwell: Bees benefited from Dubai trip
Jake Bidwell insists Brentford’s players benefited from last week’s trip to Dubai.
The five-day break was designed to help the squad recharge their batteries after an intense period of games.
However, the Bees looked sluggish on their return, only managing a 2-2 draw at home to struggling Bury on Saturday.
But on-loan defender Bidwell told West London Sport: “The trip did us the world of good.
“We did a normal programme out there, the same as we do here, and training was really sharp.
“So I don’t think that trip had anything to do with the result against Bury. We controlled for large periods and dominated the game.
“Every side goes through a bad spell and it’s about how quickly and how strongly you come out of that.
“And I back our squad to come out of it and keep us up there at the top come the end of the season.”
