Bees start with a point at Bury

Brentford began their League One campaign by picking up a point at Gigg Lane.

They came close to breaking the deadlock in the second half, with Adam Forshaw shooting wide and substitute Farid El Alagui missing the target with a header.

Bury finished the game strongly, however, and Bees keeper Simon Moore had to be alert to thwart Lenell John-Lewis.

Earlier, Bees striker Clayton Donaldson sent a header wide and summer signing Forshaw had an effort saved by Shakers keeper Trevor Carson.

Carson also produced saves to deny Leon Legge and debutant Scott Barron.
