Brentford’s Macleod turns down contract offer

Lewis Macleod has rejected Brentford’s latest contract offer.

The midfielder, who has established himself in the Bees midfield this season, is in the final year of his contract at Griffin Park.

Discussions remain ongoing and both the player and Brentford appear optimistic a deal will be reached.

Macleod, 24, has overcome serious injury problems since joining from Glasgow Rangers in 2015. He has made 39 appearances for Brentford in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Kevin O’Connor is being considered for the role of assistant head coach under new boss Thomas Frank.
