Bees star scores on his return as youngsters lose to Charlton

Maxime Colin scored on his comeback from injury in Brentford Under-21s’ 2-1 defeat to Charlton on Monday.

Josh McEachran also played, though Jota’s attempt to build up his match fitness was scuppered after he pulled out ill before the match.

Charlton went in front in the 19th minute via an overhead kick from former Southend and Coventry midfielder Franck Moussa.

Herson Rodrigues Alves saw an effort cleared off the line in the first half, before the Addicks doubled their lead on the hour mark, Josh Umerah applying the finish.

Within a minute, Colin – who has been out for more than two months with knee injury – reduced the arrears but Brentford couldn’t find an equaliser.
