Bees set to name Warburton as manager
Brentford are expected to announce the appointment of Mark Warburton as manager on Tuesday morning.
Warburton, the Bees’ sporting director, is set to fill the void left by Uwe Rosler, who quit Griffin Park to take over at Wigan last week.
Having overseen the club’s transfers, Warburton was a major figure during Rosler’s reign and brought in several of the players who almost won Brentford promotion to the Championship last season.
Earlier this year he turned down the chance to join West Brom as sporting director.
He has long been keen to take up a managerial role and was always likely to be a strong contender to replace Rosler in the event of the German moving on.
Warburton will take charge of a team that is fourth in the table and unbeaten in nine league matches.
