Bees pick up a point at Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe 0 Brentford 0

Brentford had to dig deep in order to secure a point in a tough encouter.

They have scored a total of nine goals in their last two home matches but this was a different proposition entirely, with Scunthorpe battling for League One survival.

And the home side came close to taking all three points at Glanford Park, where on-loan Cardiff target man Jon Parkin caused the Bees problems.

Parkin dragged a shot wide and should later have broken the deadlock but hit the bar from close range.

The Iron also went close when Michael O’Connor sent a cracking volley over the bar.

Having kept United at bay, Brentford might have snatched victory late on but substitute Gary Alexander drove his effort over.
