Bees keeper makes Hampton loan move

Brentford goalkeeper Mark Smith has joined Hampton and Richmond Borough on a short-term loan deal.

The 18-year-old could be thrown straight into first-team action against Grays in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

He will continue to train with Brentford’s development squad during the loan spell.

It will be Smith’s second taste of senior football after playing four games for Hitchin Town in August.

A lifelong Bees fan, Smith joined the club in May after leaving QPR, where he’d been first-choice goalkeeper for the youth team.
