Bees hit back to earn draw at Coventry

Coventry 1 Brentford 1

Harry Forrester’s equaliser gave promotion chasers Brentford a point at the Ricoh Arena.

The midfielder struck in the second minute of the second half, firing home following Clayton Donaldson’s right-wing cross.

Coventry had gone ahead shortly before the break, Carl Baker scoring with a penalty after Harlee Dean was adjudged to have fouled Richard Wood.

The decision to award a spot-kick clearly angered Bees boss Uwe Rosler, who made his feelings known to referee Scott Mathieson after the half-time whistle.

Brentford responded strongly after the restart but, having played a key role in their goal, Donaldson missed a golden chance to put them in front late on.

Although their point could prove to be crucial at the end of the season, the draw meant Rosler’s side lost ground in the race for a top-two finish.

They are fourth – five points behind second-placed Bournemouth, with an inferior goal difference.
