Bees complete signing of young defender

Brentford have completed the signing of former Brighton left-back Leon Redwood.

The 20-year-old, a product of the Seagulls’ youth system, impressed during a trial at Griffin Park.

Redwood, who can also operate on the left of midfield, has agreed a one-year contract and will initially be part of the Bees’ development squad.

Meanwhile, Brentford expect to discover early next week whether they will be able to re-sign Jake Bidwell.

The youngster was excellent while on loan from Everton last season and boss Uwe Rosler is keen for him to return.
