Andrews savours Brentford’s ‘best win of the season’

Keith Andrews described Brentford’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest as their “best win of the season”.
A first-half own goal by Forest defender Nikola Milenkovic and a 76th-minute strike by Igor Thiago kept the Bees sixth in the Premier League.
It was relief for Thiago in particular – the Brazilian netting just his second league goal of 2026-27.
“I think it’s probably our best win of the season,” head coach Andrews declared.
“You have to show different traits, and the schedule hasn’t been kind to us this week. We didn’t get the results we wanted and today’s opposition tested us at times.
“There was a lot of smart play and leadership today that I really liked. We didn’t start so well in the second half, but on so many levels it was a brilliant win.
“This season we have options to tweak and manoeuvre (off the substitute’s bench) and we had that today.
“They (Forest) have very good players and you have to press them aggressively in tight areas. We defended really well as a collective today.”

Andrews praised goalscorer Thiago for his overall performance in a gritty win for the Bees.
He said: “You’re dealing with human beings and so much goes up and down.
“‘In the last two or three weeks I saw a spark about him. He played in a different position and was electric in attack. It is the selfless work that gets my tick today.
“I wasn’t concerned about Thiago in the slightest. He epitomises how we play in a selfless manner”.
