Ex-Hillingdon Borough manager Pitt takes over at Rayners Lane

Rayners Lane FC have appointed Gary Pitt as manager.

Pitt has taken over following his departure from Hillingdon Borough, whose demise was announced earlier this month.

Dave Roberts, Haitham Gabril and Louis Blincko, who worked with Pitt at Borough, have joined his coaching staff – and several players from their former side are expected to join them.

Rayners Lane compete in the Combined Counties Premier Division North, and club chairman Peter Singh said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Gary, Dave, Haitham and Louis.

“When we identified Gary as our top candidate, it quickly became clear that his values and ambitions were perfectly aligned with where this football club wants to go.

“He has a proven track record of building teams, developing players, and creating a winning mentality.

“This is a huge appointment for us. The calibre of individuals he is bringing with him, both staff and players, tells you everything about the respect Gary commands in the non-League game.

“We want to be competitive at Step 5 — and we believe Gary is exactly the right man to drive that forward. Everyone connected with the club should be very excited about what lies ahead.”

Pitt played for North Greenford United and has since had a number of coaching roles.

He has been the manager of QPR’s women’s reserve team and worked for the R’s as a youth scout prior to taking over at Hillingdon in May last year.

Pitt said: “I’m incredibly proud and honoured to be given this opportunity.

“Rayners Lane is a club with real momentum, a fantastic set-up, and a chairman who clearly has a vision for the future.

“Step 5 is a real challenge and that excites me. I’ve had great times at Hillingdon Borough and I have nothing but respect for everyone there, but when Rayners Lane came calling, I knew straightaway it was the right move.

“Having Dave and Haitham alongside me means we hit the ground running, and bringing in players who already know how we work gives us a great foundation.

“I can’t wait to get started, meet the lads, and start putting our stamp on things. Let’s build something the fans can be proud of.”
