Cook set for final appearance for QPR

Steve Cook is set to make his 100th – and final – appearance for QPR in Tuesday’s match against Swansea.

Cook’s contract expires this summer and the club have confirmed he will not be offered a new deal.

In announcing the news, Rangers also revealed that Cook will not be considered for selection for the final two matches of the campaign, as the emphasis will be on “looking to the future”.

Cook, who turned 35 on Sunday, moved to Loftus Road in the summer of 2023 from Nottingham Forest.

It was a two-year deal and he made the required number of appearances to secure another 12-month contract.

Cook began his career at Brighton but made his name at Bournemouth, where he spent more than a decade and played a key role in the Cherries’ rise up the divisions to the Premier League.

“It’s never easy to leave a club, but with the amount of games I’ve managed to play over the three years, I hope I’ve been able to contribute on and off the pitch,” Cook told Rangers’ website.
