Oxford v QPR player ratings

QPR played out a second successive goalless draw. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the stalemate against Oxford United.

Joe Walsh: 8

Another impressive performance from the keeper, who has been in good form – and now kept two clean sheets – since his recent return from injury. He produced a superb second-half save to deny Sam Long.

Amadou Mbengue: 6

Very hit-and-miss and his combination with Karamoko Dembele on the right posed a threat to both teams at times. Did come up with a fantastic second-half block though.

Jimmy Dunne: 7

Steady at the back in difficult conditions.

Steve Cook: 7

Also had a solid game – and had one of the few efforts on goal when he shot over from long range.

Esquerdinha: 7

Was having a very decent game before being stretchered off what seemed like a very worrying-looking knee injury in the second half. He was lively on the left and also solid defensively.

Karamoko Dembele: 6

His touch was poor at times but he did also produce moments of quality, not least when finding Paul Smyth with an excellent ball in the first half. Caused Oxford problems, but also put his own side under pressure by losing possession, with one late counter-attack coming as a result.

Isaac Hayden: 6

Worked hard in midfield before going off in the second half soon after picking up a heavy knock.

Nicolas Madsen: 6

Struggled to get into the game for large periods, but was influential during a first-half spell in which Rangers finally began to put some passes together.

Paul Smyth: 5

Worked hard on the flank but seems less effective on the left than right. Had an effort saved and took up some good positions, but his poor decision-making on the ball was frustrating.

Daniel Bennie: 6

Given a chance up front and was lively in the first half, when he was involved in some decent link-up play. There was a huge drop-off after the interval, however, and he looked out on his feet by the end.

Richard Kone: 4

An awful display from the striker, who was woefully off the pace before being taken off in the second half. Showed an alarming lack of sharpness and posed no threat at all to the Oxford defence.

Rhys Norrington-Davies: 6

A loose touch just after coming on for Esquerdinha would have resulted in a goal but for Walsh’s fine save. Other than that, he was okay.
