QPR’s Field and Kolli sidelined by injuries

Sam Field will miss at least the next couple of QPR matches and Rayan Kolli faces weeks on the sidelines.

Field was substituted at half-time during Rangers’ defeat at Norwich because of a groin problem and is expected to return to training the week after next.

Kolli, who has been hampered by injury problems, is out again with another muscle injury – probably until at least the end of the month.

Field, usually a midfielder, has filled in at left-back.

His absence could see a return to the squad for Brazilian youngster Esquerdinha, who has been away from the club for family reasons but might resume training later this week.

“Sam Field will be back probably in 10 days or two weeks,” said head coach Julien Stephan.

“It’s a little injury and that’s good news, because I thought at the end of the first half (at Norwich) it was a worse injury, but it’s not the case.

“Rayan Kolli will probably come back at the end of the month. We need to be careful because it’s not the first (injury). Probably in two or three weeks he can start the training sessions.”

Meanwhile, Harvey Vale is expected to return to training next week following his injury.

Goalkeeper Ben Hamer will again be out for Saturday’s game against West Bromwich Albion but is likely to be available against Birmingham on Tuesday.

Hamer suffered a knock to the face during Rangers’ recent win at Blackburn.

“He will probably be available on Tuesday,” Stephan confirmed.
