Yun can play for QPR at Wembley

QPR’s Yun Suk-young will be available for the Championship play-off final at Wembley, Harry Redknapp has confirmed.

Fifa rules mean South Korea could have stopped the left-back playing against Derby on Saturday because the match falls within a designated ‘official rest period’ for all players selected for the World Cup, the only exception being the Champions League final.

Rangers were previously given permission by Croatia to select Niko Kranjcar and were confident Yun, 24, would also be allowed to play.

A formal request was made to the Korea Football Association last week and QPR manager Redknapp’s assistant Kevin Bond held talks with South Korea assistant coach Kim Tae-young.

“It’s fantastic that the Korean manager has allowed him to stay and be part of our team,” said Redknapp.

Yun, signed in January last year, has impressed during recent appearances for Rangers, which included a lively display as a second-half substitute in Monday’s play-off semi-final triumph against Wigan.
