Hoddle working closely with QPR’s Traore

Armand Traore has revealed that Glenn Hoddle has been working closely with him since his arrival at QPR as a coach.

Former England boss Hoddle has been assessing Rangers’ squad since being brought in by manager Harry Redknapp.

And they are hoping to get the best out of Traore, who has had mixed fortunes in the roles of winger, full-back and wing-back.

Traore explained: “I’m working with Glenn Hoddle. Against Stoke when [Mame Biram] Diouf made a run from deep I followed him, I recovered the ball – this was [down to] Glenn.

“A few days ago he told me when the winger makes the run inside like this, if he makes the run from deep, you can’t play him offside.

“He is giving me some advice like this and I think we are working on it. Every day I think I can improve.

“I need to improve defensively. I made a few mistakes but I think I’ve done some good things as well – this is what Glenn has told me.”

Meanwhile, Traore says he will support his friend Adel Taarabt, whose has picked up an ankle injury just as he appeared to be returning to fitness after various problems.

“This is what friends are here for; it is obviously a difficult time for him,” said the former Arsenal man.

“I need to make sure as a friend that he keeps his head right. He’ll be fine.”
