‘My Ramires is back’ declares Mourinho

Manager Jose Mourinho has welcomed the return of’ ‘his’ Ramires after the fit-again Brazilian helped Chelsea beat Liverpool to secure a Capital One Cup final place.

Ramires brought typical energy and dynamism to the midfield after replacing the injured Cesc Fabregas in the 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, a result which ensured a 2-1 aggregate triumph.

“My Ramires is back,” Mourinho said. “This is the second best news.

“The first one is to be in the final, the second one is that our Ramires is back after so many weeks and weeks of work and sacrifice.”

Branislav Ivanovic’s extra-time header earned the win, but Mourinho preferred to praise Ramires and the contribution of his attacking players.

“I had a fantastic Diego Costa, Willian, Eden Hazard and Oscar in the second period,” Mourinho added.

“In the second half we were better than them and also in extra time. After the goal we controlled the game very well and deserved the win.

“We beat a very good team, a very difficult opponent, over two legs.”
