Brentford extend Swift’s loan spell

Brentford have extended the loan deal for Chelsea midfielder John Swift until the New Year.

The 20-year-old joined the Bees at the start of the month and has played in all four Championship matches he has been available for.

He scored his first Brentford goal in the 3-0 win over Charlton on Saturday.

Swift will now remain at Griffin Park until 3 January.

He has been a regular for Chelsea’s Under-21 side, having previously played in two FA Youth Cup finals.

The former Portsmouth trainee has played for England at every level from Under-16s to Under-20s.
