Musonda and Kenedy will play in Chelsea cup game

Antonio Conte has confirmed that Charly Musonda and Kenedy are set to feature for Chelsea against Everton in the Carabao Cup.

Kenedy, who was sent home from the club’s pre-season tour of the Far East after posting an offensive comment on social media about China, played in the previous round against Nottingham Forest.

So too did Musonda, who has more recently also been in hot water for comments he made on social media – in his case when he appeared to criticise the club’s selection policy.

But Blues boss Conte is ready to give both players a chance to show what they can do in Wednesday’s game.

“I think for the game against Everton it is a good opportunity to give a chance to young players like Charly Musonda and Kenedy,” Conte told Chelsea’s website.

“They are young but they deserve this chance because they are working very well, they are improving and to see the improvement during a tough game against Everton, I think is important for the club.”
