Abraham reveals support from Chelsea

Tammy Abraham has told The Sun he has received messages of support from Chelsea during his prolific loan spell at Bristol City.

Abraham, 19, has scored 11 goals for the Championship club since joining them on a season-long loan from the Blues.

He also found the net regularly for Chelsea’s Under-18 and Under-21 sides, raising hopes that he will eventually make the breakthrough into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

And he says he has been in regular contact with his parent club during his time at Ashton Gate.

He said: “The messages that I’ve got from them have just been really positive.

“But I’ve been getting advice on key areas that I can improve on too. That’s what I try to do, keep going and improving.

“Luckily that’s what I’ve been doing and showing people what I’m capable of doing.”

Abraham continued his goalscoring form by scoring twice on his full debut for England Under-21s.

Former Chelsea youngster John Swift, now with Reading, also scored as England rounded off their Under-21 European Championship qualifying campaign with a 5-0 thrashing of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Chelsea’s Nathaniel Chalobah also featured in the game at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium, while Lewis Baker was an unused substitute.

Less than 24 hours earlier, another Chelsea forward, Dominic Solanke, scored for England’s Under-20 side in a 2-0 win against the United States.
