Holloway and Smith shortlisted for award

Ian Holloway and Dean Smith were shortlisted for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month award for October, which was won by Derby’s Gary Rowett. 

QPR manager Holloway led his side to two wins and two draws in four matches, with the victories coming against promotion chasers Wolves and Sheffield United.

And Smith’s Brentford were unbeaten in October, beating Millwall and Preston as they climbed the table after a troubled start to the season.

Bolton’s Phil Parkinson was also shortlisted for the award.
