Dickson latest to pen new Quins contract

Harlequins have tied down scrum half Karl Dickson until the end of the 2016-17 season.

The 32-year-old, who has made more than 100 appearances for the club since joining in 2009, becomes the sixth player in the last week to agree a new contract with Quins.

Dickson has scored 16 tries since moving from Bedford Blues and was a key player in the Amlin Challenge Cup victory of 2011, the Aviva Premiership title in 2012 and the LV= Cup triumph of 2013.

Off the pitch, he is a qualified referee and is considering becoming a professional official once his playing career is over.

Quins director of rugby Conor O’Shea said: “Karl is one of the most competitive and best people you will come across.

“Together with Danny [Care], he is integral to everything we do and the way we play.

“He has achieved a lot over the years with us and I know he will keep on pushing us and himself to be better.”

Yesterday, Quins confirmed that props Will Collier and Kyle Sinckler had signed new deals with the club.

Earlier this week, back-row Luke Wallace and centre Matt Hopper both signed up until 2017, while veteran Nick Easter has said he has an agreement in place on a new two-year deal.
