Youngsters feature as QPR lose at Burnley

Burnley 1 QPR 0

Youngsters Cole Kpekawa and Michael Petrasso featured for QPR as they were beaten at Burnley, whose win clinched the Lancashire club’s promotion back to the Premier League.

Rangers threatened in the first half but the Clarets broke the deadlock on the hour mark when Sam Vokes headed home Dave Jones’ free-kick.

Alejandro Faurlin almost equalised with a shot from near the edge of the penalty area which struck the post.

The home fans thought their team had scored a late second when Vokes found the net with a header, but the goal was disallowed because of a foul on Matt Ingram.

Keeper Ingram kept his place in the Rangers side and again impressed, producing a second-half save to deny Scott Arfield.

QPR end their season with a home match against Bristol City on Saturday.

QPR: Ingram; Onuoha, Hall, Hill, Kpekawa; Henry, Faurlin; Phillips, Hoilett (Washington 63), Petrasso (El Khayati 70); Polter (Gladwin 71).
Subs not used: Lumley, Perch, Grego-Cox, Prohouly.
