‘My sadness is overwhelming’ – QPR’s class of ’93 pay their tributes to Wilkins

Tributes have continued to be paid to Chelsea and QPR legend Ray Wilkins following the terrible news of his death.

The Hillingdon-born Wilkins, who was 61, was revered at both west London clubs.

At Rangers, he was the driving force behind the side which finished fifth in the Premier League in 1993.

Wilkins’ great friend and team-mate from that era, Alan McDonald, also tragically died, in 2012.

Both men were much-loved by other members of that QPR squad, many of whom have expressed their shock and sadness at the loss of ‘Super Ray’ as he was affectionately known at Loftus Road.
