QPR have made a bid for Mohamed Diame and expect to hold talks with the Senegal midfielder.
A clause in his contract means he can leave West Ham for £3.5m, but the east London club are confident he will stay at Upton Park.
Diame was earmarked as a possible capture soon after Harry Redknapp’s appointment, with the Rangers manager keen to sign at least one midfielder when the transfer window opens.
Redknapp has also expressed some interest in Liverpool’s Joe Cole, who played under him at West Ham, but no formal talks have yet taken place.
Meanwhile, young R’s defender Michael Harriman could join Wycombe on loan this week.

The Liverpool first half was woeful beyond belief. Too many on high wages who don't care .... Bosingwa being the most obvious £125k per week unbelievable. HR has brought in the triers but they lack the quality of the ones that are there for the easy money ... QPR and WHU similar clubs and both have good managers.
WHU going much better but QPR have the finances to rebuild and push on.
