QPR’s Ramsey wins award for youth development

Chris Ramsey has the dual role of technical director and head of coaching at QPR

Chris Ramsey has won an Eamonn Dolan Award in recognition of QPR’s development of young players this season.

The award is given for outstanding youth development and is named after Eamonn Dolan, who died of cancer in 2016.

Dolan was widely respected for his work with Reading’s academy.

Rangers technical director Ramsey, who also has the role of head of coaching and assisted with first-team coaching following Curtis Fleming’s departure for Middlesbrough last season, was recognised at the 2018 Premier League Youth Conference awards dinner along with Charlton’s academy manager Steve Avory.

It comes after the likes of Paul Smyth, Ebere Eze, Aramide Oteh, Joe Lumley, Ilias Chair and Osman Kakay made the step up to first-team level at QPR from the club’s development side.
