Sun on Sunday say QPR could replace Holloway with Jackett

Ian Holloway is under pressure and could be sacked if QPR lose to fellow strugglers Bolton next weekend, The Sun on Sunday say.

The newspaper declare that Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett – Holloway’s assistant during his first spell as Rangers manager – has been lined up as a potential replacement.

The Sun on Sunday also claim the club’s hierarchy believe Rangers should be pushing towards the top six despite the budget being reduced – and that Portsmouth’s slow start under Jackett this season “leaves the door open for a quick exit.”

Saturday’s 1-1 draw at struggling Sunderland left QPR 14th in the Championship table and still waiting for their first away win of the season.

On Saturday they face a Bolton side who are bottom of the table with only five points, but secured their first win of the campaign by beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on Saturday.

  • "...the club’s hierarchy believe Rangers should be pushing towards the top six despite the budget being reduced".

What a load of b*****x by the Sun.

  • What would be the point of getting rid of Holloway & replacing him with another less experienced manager
Holloway has this squad working for each other & him all we need to do is fill the net
I'm sure 3 goals a game is just around the corner

  • Why would Kenny Jackett leave an upcoming club lke Portsmouth for a heavily indebted club on the slide like QPR?

  • Acsrjjp - What attacking threat is left on the bench? You cant blame a manager who has had his hands tied in the transfer market. The players we have require time but we desperately need to sort our attacking options out in the transfer window.

  • We have had manager after manager, and results havent improved.the performance level is much muchbetter thanlast season, but points on the board havent.

  • Would it really be fair to slap all those spending restrictions and fill the side with promising players who need another season to find their feet, then sack him when it looks like the team are playing their hearts out? I don't believe anyone else could get more out of this side. One thing we're missing is a goal scorer. Once that issue is addressed, hopefully in the transfer window, we will be contenders.

  • about time our heiracy sussed IH out,we are never going to win any games leaving our best attacking force on the bench.
