Hasselbaink looks at Stoke winger in QPR draw

Stoke City winger Choulay featured for QPR as they continued their pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw in a friendly at Burton.

Choulay, 20, formerly of Barcelona, came on as a second-half substitute at the Pirelli Stadium, where Nedum Onuoha’s deflected header put the visitors ahead 10 minutes before half-time.

Onuoha met Michael Doughty’s left-wing corner and the ball was inadvertently diverted into the net by Burton’s Kyle McFadzean.

Conor Washington then went close to scoring his first R’s goal when he blasted against the bar after linking up nicely with former Burton man Nasser El Khayati.

Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s former side equalised in the second half when Stuart Bevan poked home from close range after Joel Lynch and Onuoha were unable to clear the danger.

As expected, summer signings Jake Bidwell and Lynch returned to the QPR line-up after recovering from minor injuries.

Fellow new signing Jordan Cousins missed out after going off with a groin injury during the second half of Friday’s match at Wycombe.

Cousins could return for Saturday’s friendly against Watford at Loftus Road.

QPR: Smithies, Perch, Onuoha, Lynch (Kpekawa 60), Bidwell (Furlong 60), Henry, Doughty, Petrasso (Gladwin 63), Luongo (Chery 60) , El Khayati (Choulay 60), Washington (Polter 63).
