Out-of-favour QPR keeper Ingram wants to stay at Wycombe

QPR goalkeeper Matt Ingram has told Wycombe’s website he would like to extend his stay at the club.

Ingram rejoined his former side on seven-day emergency loan to play in their 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Saturday.

Wycombe, who are managed by Gareth Ainsworth and sold Ingram to Rangers in 2016, were given permission to make the signing because keepers Ryan Allsop and Yves Ma-Kalambay are both injured.

Ingram, 24, was allowed to make the move by QPR as they were not in action because of the international break.

The short-term loan deal was sanctioned in order to give Wycombe time to eventually bring in another keeper.

But Ingram would stay at Adams Park longer if given the chance.

“Personally I’d love to stay until the lads are fit, but obviously I think that decision is out of my hands,” he said.

“So what will be will be. But I’d love to stay.”

Ingram has been out of the Rangers side since being displaced by Joe Lumley earlier this season.

  • I hope he is allowed to take a loan move to Wycombe.
His early season at QPR will have dented his confidence after so long as Smithies back up & deservedly got the place ahead of lumley but poor team displays in those early games cost him his place & now he needs to rekindle his desires
