QPR confirm departure of Rowlands

Martin Rowlands has left QPR by mutual consent.

An agreement was reached with the midfielder, who moved to Loftus Road from Brentford in 2003.

Rowlands, 32, made over 200 appearances for the R’s, was a key player in their promotion from the third tier in 2004 and a stand-out performer in the Championship.

But he been blighted by injury problems, and cruciate damage effectively ended his Rangers career – just as he was establishing himself in the Republic of Ireland side.

His final appearance for the club came in this season’s Carling Cup defeat against Rochdale. Since then he has had a spell on loan at Wycombe.

Norway international Petter Vaagan Moen, who has failed to make an impact since his arrival in west London last year, has also left the club.
