QPR braced for verdict on Henrique

Henrique’s application for a work permit will be considered on Monday.

QPR have agreed the signing of the Brazilian striker, 20, from Sao Paulo on an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer, although there are doubts over whether the move will go through.

But the club’s capture of Nigerian left-back Taye Taiwo from AC Milan should be completed without any problems – and may even be rubber-stamped in the next 24 hours.

The former Marseille defender, who also requires a work permit, is expected to be unveiled as a QPR player early next week along with Manchester City’s Nedum Onuoha.

Discussions are still taking place between R’s boss Mark Hughes and transfer-listed Chelsea centre-back Alex.

A sizeable offer will be made to Chelsea if the 29-year-old indicates that he is prepared to move to Loftus Road.
