Luton interested in QPR defender Baptiste

Luton are interested in taking Alex Baptiste on loan from QPR for the rest of the season.

Baptiste, 32, is well down the pecking order of defenders at Loftus Road, where his contract expires this summer.

He has not made a first-team appearance since Rangers’ 3-0 defeat at Swansea in September.

Baptiste is fit again following a recent injury and could be allowed to leave ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Former QPR manager Ian Holloway signed Baptiste on a free transfer from Middlesbrough in 2017, having previously worked with him at Blackpool.

He has made 30 Championship appearances for the R’s since that move, but just four of them have come this season.
