New signings on the way – Ferdinand

Les Ferdinand has told QPR Player that a number of players are interested in moving to Loftus Road in what he expects to be a busy summer for the club.

Rangers are again looking to revamp their squad, with several players leaving now their contracts have expired.

“It will be a busy summer. We did a lot of planning towards the end of the season,” director of football Ferdinand said.

“Now it’s about talking to the clubs and trying to persuade those players to come our way.

Hasselbaink is keen to make major changes

“We’re speaking to people and we’ve got a lot of people who are interested in coming to the club.

“It’s now about getting across the line and getting those deals done.”

Ferdinand also explained that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is keen to play with a high-intensity style next season and that this was a factor in Clint Hill and Alejandro Faurlin moving on.

West London Sport recently revealed that Hasselbaink had indicated that out-of-contract trio Faurlin, Hill and Karl Henry were not in his plans.

It was later confirmed that Hill and Faurlin were among those leaving Rangers.

Ferdinand said: “The manager wants to play a brand of football. He spoke to them and said ‘this is the way I want to go forward’ and told them what his plans for them would be.

“But that wasn’t good enough for them and sometimes you have to move on. They’re great guys. This is based on football and nothing else.”

  • I'm in complete agreement with you Karl!! Build a side with a core of experience and young talent. Gain promotion in a couple of season's with a team capable of competing in the Prem. Look at Bournemouth for instance, stayed up because they had a great 'team' not world class individuals just a solid team. I'm quite happy with the way we are moving forward.

  • Sometimes I believe the club cannot win with us fans!!

One moment we are complaining about spending ridiculous sums of money on has been players of stupid contracts, then when the club finally wake up and start to look for young hungry players on sinsible wages, we start calling them cheap!! Get real people.

I, for one, would much rather spend a couple season in the championship, rebuilding our squad with Young British latent, then bring in big names and continue being a yo yo club!

  • Blind leading the blind unfortunately.

Finance dictating every decision. Expecting a pre-season of signings from the lower leagues, just in time for us to become a lower league side ourselves in 12 months.

Transfer dealings so far from LF and JFH atrocious. Not one above average player.

  • Those two are proper rangers ,play with there heart on there sleeve what a shocking decision the club should be ashamed of there selfs
Jfh and les should do one

  • Don't get it. Are planning for promotion or just staying up and avoiding relegation?
