QPR see off Ipswich to claim another away triumph

Ipswich 0 QPR 2

QPR clinched a second successive away victory and their third win on the road this season – as many as they managed throughout the whole of last term.

An own goal by Ipswich keeper Dean Gerken put Rangers ahead and Tomer Hemed doubled the lead with a penalty – the final kick of the first half.

Gerken failed to claim Luke Freeman’s 13th-minute corner, instead diverting the ball into the net.

The goal came a couple of minutes after Hemed had headed over from another Freeman corner.

But Hemed made no mistake from the spot after Ebere Eze had been brought down by Janoi Donacien.

The Israel international calmly tucked away his second goal since joining the R’s.

The lively Eze almost made it three when his left-footed strike hit the bar.
