Ipswich players struggling with illness ahead of QPR game

A number of Ipswich Town players, including captain Luke Chambers, are being monitored after going down with a virus ahead of their game against QPR, the East Anglian Daily Times reports.

Chambers has been ever-present for Ipswich in the Championship this season but is among the members of Paul Hurst’s squad to have been ill during the international break.

He will be monitored before the game at Portman Road before Ipswich boss Hurst names his side to face the R’s.

“We will have to monitor those before making a call for Saturday,” Hurst said.

“Chambo’s one of those who will put his hand up and be available, it’s just whether he’s 100 per cent ready to go.

“We’ll look at that tomorrow morning but he’s got his antibiotics in and hopefully they will have the desired effect.”

Meanwhile, QPR are set to sign youngsters Lewis Walker and Charlie Rowan.
