Hughes confirms Bosingwa is ‘very close’ to QPR move

QPR manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that former Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa is close to agreeing a move to Loftus Road.

The right-back has been in talks with the club and is expected to sign a deal in the next 48 hours.

Bosingwa is a free agent, having been released by Chelsea when his contract at Stamford Bridge ended earlier this summer.

“We’re having discussions with him and his advisors,” said Hughes.

“It’s something we’re keen to do if we can. We think we’re very close but the next few hours will tell us.

“He’s the right quality and has got a lot of football left in him, so we’d be delighted to bring him to the club.”

Hughes has also confirmed that former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves is no longer training with the R’s.

Hargreaves recently joined Rangers on their pre-season visit to Germany.
