Holloway targets striker after QPR defeat

Ian Holloway felt the 2-1 defeat at home to Burton underlined QPR’s need to sign a striker.

Rangers are keen to further add to their squad ahead of Tuesday’s deadline, but manager Holloway warned that their days of big spending are over.

“I’m going to try to make us stronger all around and particularly up front if I can,” Holloway said.

“It’s a very methodical way we have to do things these days. Do our fans understand that; the ones who think we should be buying God knows who for God knows what?

“That’s not how it’s going to be. We’re going to have to manufacture ourselves a really strong, young team.

“I need to bring the right sort of people in if I can. We’ve got lots of things spinning at the moment. Which way are they going to drop? We’re not sure yet.

“But hopefully they’ll give me the right sort of selection problems so I can build a team that can win different types of
games.”

Holloway admitted his team were second best at Loftus Road and never recovered from Luke Murphy’s early goal.

He said: “It’s bitterly disappointing, because I thought we could play better than that and give a better show of ourselves.

“I’m sick and fed up of feeling like I do now. It’s not how I want to feel.

“We have to assert ourselves on games and we didn’t do it in the way I wanted us to.”

  • we keep being told we can't go out and spend big, however surely we can afford 2-3 million for a striker that would keep us in this division,IH has to come out and explain what has happened to the money we received from the sale of chery and polter and the fact we no longer have sandro's wages to pay ,stop feeding us bullshit and start managing, anyone in the crowd could see where our problems lay, buy a striker,we're bottom of the goals-for league.

  • What has Holloway and an Oscar nominated movie got in common ? the movie in question has the same name to where Holloway is at the moment, La La Land. Holloway continues to speak shit and his team at the moment is shit, so do the job properly or ship out.We have been totally out played in the last five games but god knows how we got some points on the board, i would hate to think what Shaun Goss thought about the performance yesterday.
