QPR look to offload Sandro on a free

QPR are increasingly optimistic they will offload Sandro during this month’s transfer window.

Rangers will not ask for a fee for the Brazilian midfielder and are desperate for him to find a club rather than continue paying his huge wages for the remaining months of his contract, which expires in the summer

Sandro has had fitness issues since his £6m move from Tottenham in 2014 and has started only 29 league matches for the R’s.

Several previous efforts to find him a new club failed, but there has been interest in him in recent weeks and as a result there is much more of an expectation than during previous windows that he will move on.

His representatives have sought confirmation from the club that he can go on a free transfer, which Rangers are taking as an indication that the Sandro camp believe a move is in the offing.

Rangers held talks with intermediaries from the Chinese Super League about Sandro in October.

So far there though has been no sign of firm interest from Chinese clubs – instead it is Tjaronn Chery who has attracted lucrative offer from the Far East.
