Boost for QPR as Cousins resumes training

Recent QPR signing Jordan Cousins has returned to training and is expected to feature in Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Watford at Loftus Road.

The midfielder went off with groin injury during last Friday’s friendly at Wycombe and missed Tuesday’s game at Burton.

Cousins, 22, has been pencilled in for a return to action against the Hornets and is in line to make his competitive debut for the R’s in next weekend’s Championship game at home to Leeds.

Boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink regards Cousins and fellow summer signing Ariel Borysiuk as his first-choice central midfield pairing.

Poland international Borysiuk, however, will miss the start of the season after being ruled out for around six weeks with an ankle injury.

But Hasselbaink has made it clear that setback is unlikely to open the door for Sandro even if the Brazilian remains at Loftus Road.

Hasselbaink has told Sandro that Massimo Luongo and Karl Henry are also ahead of him in the pecking order of midfielders.

  • When will qpr get it right

Firstly why is Karl Henry even at qpr let alone being considered
Sandro runs rings around this joker. We need an out and out striker.Surely with all there resources we could of found one by now..I'm thinking Leslie Ferdinand should be the next to be shown the door.Just not doing his job.

  • all the midfielders in the world will be wasted if they have no-one to finish off their efforts,Rs heirachy we need two more goalscorers, goals win games not pretty play in the middle of the park, ask the England national team.
