QPR v Birmingham player ratings

QPR came from behind to win their final home match of the season. Here’s how we rated each Rangers player in the 3-1 victory over Birmingham.

Joe Lumley: 7

A mixed afternoon for the young keeper. Lumley had no chance with the Birmingham goal and was lucky to get away with a poor attempt to block Jota’s tame secon- half effort. But he saved very well from Maxime Colin and Jota late in the game.

Osman Kakay: 7

Solid at the back and worked well to get forward. He’s behind Darnell Furlong in the race for right-back next season, but he’s shown that he can be a dependable replacement.

Darnell Furlong: 7

Another fine display from the R’s youngster. With James Perch and Nedum Onuoha departing, and Jack Robinson also likely to leave, Furlong could be a great option at centre-back as well as right-back next season.

Jake Bidwell: 7

Nearly capped an excellent display with a goal, but David Stockdale produced a stunning save from the defender’s second-half header.

Ryan Manning: 7

Deployed at left-back, the versatile Manning put in an excellent performance. He galloped forward on several occasions and produced some solid defensive work too.

Josh Scowen: 7

Worked hard to protect the R’s backline, which in turn allowed his side’s full-backs to push higher up the field.

Luke Freeman: 7

A busy display nearly was rewarded with a second-half screamer, but Stockdale was equal to it. His cross to set up Ilias Chair for Rangers’ second goal – his 13th assist of the season.

Ilias Chair: 7

A positive performance from Chair; an assist and his first goal for QPR. It was his good work to recover Freeman’s cross that set up Bright Osayi-Samuel for QPR’s first and then he slotted home the second after again latching onto a Freeman cross.

Ebere Eze: 6

During an excellent first half, Eze was able to drift around the pitch with ease and showcase his sublime footwork. However, he found the going a lot harder in the second half.

Bright Osayi-Samuel: 8

A very ‘Bright’ afternoon for Osyai-Samuel, who scored his first QPR goal and was a nuisance throughout the game. Another positive sign for next season.

Irissa Sylla: 6

A quiet afternoon for Sylla. Failed to register a meaningful effort on goal, but his movement allowed Osayi-Samuel and Eze to find space.

Nedum Onuoha: 6

Came on to a rapturous applause in the second half on his final appearance for the club at Loftus Road. His one telling contribution was a typically robust challenge as the R’s saw out the victory.

Jamie Mackie: 6

It was so nearly the perfect send-off for the hugely popular forward, but he was just unable to turn two efforts home.

Matt Smith: 7

Came on late in the game and scored QPR’s third to seal the win.
