JET and new signings play as Fulham beat QPR in friendly

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas featured for QPR and new signing Ibrahima Cisse was among Fulham’s scorers as the Whites won 4-2 in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday afternoon.

Sone Aluko, Stefan Johansen and youngster Matt O’Riley also netted for Fulham, while Dan Darbyshire and Osman Kakay scored for QPR, whose line-up included outcast Emmanuel-Thomas, who spent last season on loan at Gillingham, and new signing Chay Tilt.

Winger Tilt, 19, has signed deal until January after leaving West Bromwich Albion and his first outing came in the game at Fulham’s Motspur Park training ground.

While Rangers fielded their development side, Fulham’s line-up included a number of first-team players.

Ryan Fredricks, Tim Ream, Ragnar Sigurdsson, Aluko and Floyd Ayité all started for the hosts, as did Cisse and fellow recent signing Marcelo Djaló, while Tom Cairney, Stefan Johansen and Kevin McDonald came on as substitutes.

Fulham opened the scoring when Cisse’s 15th-minute free-kick struck the bar and rebounded into the net off keeper Seny Dieng,

Darbyshire equalised with a fine solo goal but Fulham were back in front by the interval courtesy of Aluko’s tidy finish.

O’Riley scored at the far post after being set up by Lasse Vigen Christensen four minutes into the second half, and Johansen’s free-kick made it 4-1 before Kakay netted a late goal for Rangers.

  • I'm very worried about Rangers this season. IH is a great man but you don't have a good season on team spirit alone as this soon goes when you're not winning matches. Our defence was the problem last season and we've done nothing to improve it so far.

Bringing JET back smacks of desperation.

  • Am I dreaming,or in the twilight zone?, why have we not brought anyone in apart from JS,did we do so well last season that we don't require any new recruits? what worries me is that we were going to "Do our business early"!!!! if bringing in one player is IT,then 1st Division here we comethe only solace would be that Mr Holloway would be fired.
